Natural Home Remedies and Cures - GERD

Many people in our country suffer from acid reflux or as the medical profession calls it "GERD". It is miserable to live with. I was treated for it many years with prescription drugs, such as Tagamet, Prilosec and others. Prilosec was the only one that worked well for me, but none of them cure the problem. And it caused me to have IBS and I also found out that it causes bone loss. To make things worse, I found out that I had Osteoporosis pretty bad at a fairly young age. This is why we need to find natural home remedies and cures to treat our problems with if at all possible.



The symptoms of GERD are constant heartburn, nausea and regurgitation. Prolonged symptoms without the help of natural home remedies and cures can cause more serious problems. You can get super enzymes at a health food store and try that like I did. It helped me but not good enough. So I started taking Ultimate Digestion Support by Real Advantage Nutrients. That has helped me much better. Take 1 to 3 capsules daily with a meal, depending on what you need. It contains plant-source digestive enzymes, a probiotic blend and a prebiotic blend. Instead of Tums to chew on between meals when your chest starts to bother you, chew on DGL, deglycyrrhizinated licorice root extract. It helps soothe the esophagus.



Another thing I found that helped more than anything else, especially at night, is taking a teaspoon of honey and 2 teaspoons of Bragg apple cider vinegar mixed with a little warm or cold water. *suck on a piece of peeled & washed ginger root for 30 minutes

*drink basil tea 30 minutes after a meal

*1000 mg. Orange Peel Extract every other day for a month

*fruits to eat in getting relief from acidity are cucumbers, watermelon, papaya, banana, cold milk, coconut water, almonds or raw garlic

*taking jaggery (gur) on an hourly basis will give relief from acidity

*half a glass of buttermilk with 1 tablespoon of coriander juice is effective in case of stomach burns, indigestion and acidity - this is supposed to be very effective for acidity
